Attorneys at Sasscer, Clagett & Bucher (SCB) provide our clients with powerful and sophisticated legal services. Our firm represents individuals in matters including family law and divorce, personal injury claims, auto accident claims, and criminal defense cases including DUI/DWI and homicide.
We also represent businesses and non-profit institutions in defense against civil claims, disciplinary actions, and general civil litigation. We serve clients throughout Maryland from offices in Upper Marlboro and La Plata, and handle select cases in Washington, D.C.
Grounded in tradition
SCB was established by Congressman Lansdale B. Sasscer in 1920, and today is the oldest established law firm in Prince George's County, Maryland. From the time of its inception, the firm has maintained a commitment to providing legal services marked by quality and professionalism. In addition to Congressman Sasscer, our former members include a judge of the Court of Appeals of Maryland, two judges of the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland, and a president of the Maryland State Bar Association.
Positioned for the future
As our firm has grown, we have been joined by attorneys who are leaders in their respective fields. SCB is — first and foremost — a litigation firm, committed to protecting our clients' interests. Each client at SCB is assured that the client's issue will be handled by an attorney with extensive experience in that area of law, and who is prepared to present powerful representation at trial.

But there are ethical restrictions on the acceptance of credit card payments for retainer fees (i.e., advance payment for work or expenses to be performed or incurred).
